How to become a high school official
High School Certification is a multiple step process. First you must be registered. This requires expressing an interest in doing high school soccer and completing the Back Ground Check. You express an interest by contacting the high school registrar at merlei@comcast.net. You must go to the High School WEB site (http://woaofficial.web123.discountasp.net/pages/), down load the High School background check, complete the form and mail it to Merle Iverson, 9818 N Wieber Dr, Spokane, WA 99208.
Merle insures the accuracy. While waiting, go to spokaneref.org, sign on and update your profile. Merle will use that information to complete your High School registration. Mandatory is birth date and social security number as they will be the basis of your sign on to the high school web site.
Once this is done you must log on to the High School WEB site (http://woaofficial.web123.discountasp.net/pages/ and take the online rules clinic. This clinic has several mini-quizzes, which you must pass each mini clinic before you can proceed. After completing the online rules clinic, you must take the online rules test. . This is open book and requires a grade of at least 75%. After completing the exam, do not forget to submit it. It has been properly submitted; when you immediately receive you score and a list of questions missed.
You must complete the miniquizes associated with the clinic and the on line test to be certified. When you have completed clinic and test, let Merle know so he can check that the system is operating correctly.
If you need a Rule Book, contact Merle Iverson. If you need a WOA patch, contact Merle Iverson.
The Inland Empire Soccer Referee Association has agreed that only Certified Referees will be used for High School Soccer games. We believe that you must know the rules of the High School game and that only comes with certification.
